GP3 - Tournament Guidelines

RANDOM AFFILIATION CONSTRUCTED
The Random Affiliation Constructed was developed to bring all affiliations back to the tournament scene. For participation a previous registration is needed beacuse all affiliations will be selceted at random two weeks before the tournament takes place.
  • Deck has to contain 3/4 of personell und ships müssen zu 3/4 (round up) from the selected affiliation.
  • Treaties and similar functions of cards like Vidiian Sodality or Temporal Micro-Wormhole may not be used.
  • Decklists are needed for random checks.
KLINGON CIVIL WAR SCENARIO
This scenario provides the feeling of the glorious war between the Klingon factions! There are few special rules to follow:
  • The objective Council of Warriors is seeded for free in the bonus point area at the beginning of the game (the event "Klingon Civil War" may not be played in the game!) - CoW is used as acuired and may not be nullified!
  • Missions' points and bonus points do not count in excess to CoW points (similar to Intermix-Ratio)!
  • Battle points do not count as bonus points but as a different kind of points not affected by Intermix-Ratio!
  • Only personnel, ships and facilities of Klingon affiliation/species may be used (regardless of draw pile, Q's Tent or seed deck)! That means personnel like Premiere Worf, K'Ehleyr or Barry Waddle keep their own affiliation but may mix with other Klingons.
PLAYERS' CHOICE SEALED
Each player gets a premiere starter and the 20 fixcards from the Official Tournament Sealed Deck. In addition they may chose 5 boosters different sets like Trouble with Tribbles, Mirror Mirror, Voyager, Holodeck Adventures and The Motion Pictures (max. 3 per set).
Standard rules apply with following exception (NO Warp Speed):
  • Quadrant icons are ignored, only the alpha quarant exists.
  • The Three-Way-Treaty from OTSD may be used for any three affiliations (has to be announced during seedphase).
  • Similar to Warp Speed every player has two normal cardplays and draws up to a maximum of 7 handcards (but no discarding!).
HIGHLANDER IRONMAN
In this special format all cards that leave play are destroyed! The following rules apply (non-sanctioned):
  • The card "Raise the Stakes" is allowed!
  • Cards from sidedecks like Q-Flash, Battle Bridge and Tribbles side-deck are not discarded but return to that side-deck.
  • Cards with a bonus point box are NOT discarded if their points are scored. If opponent scores points he becomes the owner of that card.
  • The player that ssimilates or brainwashes cards becomes the owner of that cards.
  • Each game takes 45 minutes, players draw up to a maximum of seven handcards at end of turn (like even-up).
  • The card "Gift of the Tormentor" may be seeded as a joker. When you wish to save a card from being destroyed you may destroy The Gift of the Tormentor instead once per game.
For this format a special double-elimination rule apply meaning every player who lost two games has to leave the tournmant! In addition each player may bring a 30 cards sideboard to refill or alter his deck after each round. Decklists are needed!
GRAND PRIX
The Grand Prix itself is a standard constructed tournament (although players may belong to different categories). After six rounds there will be the semi-finals between every categories first two places. The two highest rated players will play in the final confrontation for the 500€! The following categories exist:
  • Beginner/Intermediate: Decipher lifetime constructed rating below 1600.
  • Advanced: Decipher lifentime constructed rating below 1750.
  • Professional: Decipher lifetime rating from 1750 and over.
Every player has to bring a valid decklist and his deck and has to give it to the tournament director till 11:30 before the tournament!
MIDNIGHT DRAFT
Each player recieves a complete Official Tournament Sealed Deck box. The boosters are drafted meaning every players opens his one, takes a card and give the booster to the next player. This procedure goes on till every player's booster is empty, the the next one is opened... For this tournament ALL standard rules apply!

VOYAGER WARP SPEED SEALED
Each player gets a Voyager starter and two boosters to build a deck following the official Warp Speed rules. >>> Rules

EUROPEAN TEAMPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
International teams with three to for players compete for the inofficial title "European Team Champion"! All games are rated based on Decipher's team rules, meaning every single players' places are counted for the team rating whereas the fourth member is not counted. Example: Team A has the places 1, 4, 8 and 12 = 12 (1+4+8). Team B has the places 2, 3, 7 and 18 = 12 (2+3+7). So Team B has the better total rating and is the winner!
The following rules apply:
  • Format is standard constructed without any limitations.
  • Members of the same team do not play against each other.
  • All teams belong to a specified nation meaning at least half the team (= 2 players) has to be from the same country. If there is a tie the team captain's nationality defines the team nationality.
